Jervis Bay Rentals Terms and Conditions

 

 

Before you book

 

  • Please call us to discuss any special requirements you may have (don’t rely on website information alone).
  • We may be able to offer early arrival and late departure outside peak periods.  We will send you a text the day prior if they are available.
  • Our cancellation policy is industry leading.  20% deposit, full refund if cancelled within 24 hours, and flexibility if you need to change properties or dates (with sufficient notice).

 

Payment

 

  • Payment of a deposit constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  • The full stay cost is required to be paid within 42 days of arrival.
  • A 20% deposit is required for a booking more than 42 days in advance.
  • Your quoted tariff consists of an accommodation component (held in trust for the owners of the property) and a booking fee (paid to Jervis Bay Rentals). 

 

Arrival

 

  • After 3pm (unless otherwise arranged).
  • Entry is via a coded door lock or similar.  We will send you the code in advance.
  • A document containing House Rules and other information pertinent to the property will be present inside the property.  The instructions contained within must be adhered to during your stay.

 

Departure

 

  • Before 10am (unless otherwise arranged).
  • The property must be left clean and tidy.

Cancellation or Variation

 

  • All bookings cancelled within 24 hours of initial payment will receive a full refund.
  • Bookings cancelled more than 42 days prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee calculated as 20% of the total cost of the booking (i.e. your deposit).
  • Bookings cancelled within 42 days of arrival will forfeit 100% of the total cost of the booking. However, if Jervis Bay Rentals can rebook any of the cancelled nights, we will refund you 90% of whatever the new guest pays for those nights.
  • Where a deposit hasn’t been received within 3 days of booking, the booking will be cancelled.
  • If the property becomes unavailable for your occupancy due to unforeseen circumstances (eg fire, storm damage, sale etc) then we will inform you and endeavour to obtain suitable alternative accommodation for your stay.  If suitable accommodation can't be sourced, a full refund will be offered.

It is strongly advised that guests carry suitable travel insurance that covers cancellations.

 

Security Deposit

 

  • A security deposit of up to $1000 in the form of a Credit Card Authorisation or cash deposit is a condition of entry to the property.
  • Any damage, loss or expense incurred by Jervis Bay Rentals or the Owners of the property as a result of your breach of these Terms and Conditions will be charged against the security deposit (see Fees and Penalties below for examples)

It is very rare that we claim monies (less than 0.5% of bookings).  Where we do:

  • it is clear that either the property or neighbours have not been respected; or 
  •  the property hasn’t been left in a clean and tidy state; or 
  • damages, cleaning or other breaches are significant.

Fees and Penalties (inclusive of GST)

 

  • Excess cleaning requirements: charged at $55/hr
  • Dirty barbeque: $55
  • Late departure: 50% of the nightly rate on the day of departure
  • Missing keys: cost of changing of the locks and three sets of keys
  • Missing door/garage remote controls: the cost of re-coding and replacing the remote control
  • Breakages, missing items, damage to the property: Charged at replacement or repair value plus delivery and installations costs
  • Extra guests beyond those declared: $200 per guest per night
  • Drain and clean pool (broken glass, oil contamination etc): at cost (usually approx $800)

Parties, Functions and Gatherings

 

  • Disturbance to neighbours, including excessive noise, is prohibited and may result in termination and eviction without refund and extra charges may be made for security and other expenses. All costs relating to the termination and eviction will be borne by you and you will be liable for a $1,000 penalty.  
  • Jervis Bay Rentals have a strict zero tolerance policy when it comes to parties.

 

Pets (for properties that allow pets)

 

Well behaved pets are welcome at a lot of our properties.  If there is a chance that your pet will disturb the neighbours (e.g. excessive barking) or damage the property, please don’t bring them on your holiday.

  • Pets must not be left inside the property unattended
  • Pets must not enter fenced pool areas
  • Undeclared pets are not permitted
  • Extra charges maybe incurred where pets damage property or result in extra cleaning requirements, particularly relating to pet hair, scratches on doors and pet faeces not being cleaned up.

 

The rest of the fine print

 

  • These Terms and Conditions apply only to bookings made directly with Jervis Bay Rentals.  Bookings made via 3rd party organisations (e.g. Stayz, Airbnb) are subject to their Terms and Conditions, and cancellation policies.
  • You must be over 18 at the time of booking.
  • Tariffs will vary from time to time depending on demand and owner requests.  You will not be eligible for a discount, nor will you have to pay a premium if the quoted rate for your booking period changes.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the property.
  • The Guest is liable for all costs relating to damage to the property or contravention of the terms and conditions.  This is not limited to the amount of the security deposit.
  • The premises is to be securely locked whenever you leave it vacant and once you depart.
  • Swimming pool safety must be observed and complied with in accordance with legislative requirements. Guests must ensure pool access gates are secured at all times and children are properly supervised.
  • No responsibility is taken for guest's or visitor's personal property at the premises.
  • Guest's and visitor's vehicles must only be parked in designated areas.  Please don’t park on the grass.
  • Any area of the property which is locked and for which a key has not been supplied is private and not for guests use. Gaining unlawful access is a breach of this agreement and legal action may be taken.
  • No additional mattresses, tents or caravans are permitted in the property or on the grounds at any time.
  • The Property is to be rented for holiday purposes only.  No other uses are permitted.
  • The barbeque supplied with the property is the only one permitted to be used on the property.
  • No compensation will be offered for disturbance or disruption to a Guests' stay where that disturbance or disruption is beyond the control of Jervis Bay Rentals.
  • In addition to the declared guest numbers, a further 6 (six) visitors are permitted on the property, but must not stay overnight.
  • Guests are required to allow repair/service access to the property during reasonable hours.
  • In the case of any problem or complaint, you must inform Management at the earliest opportunity so that Management has the opportunity to rectify the situation as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • While we do our best to ensure the photos and description of the property on our website and other 3rd party websites is accurate, they should not be relied upon as properties are being constantly upgraded or altered.  If you have a special requirement you must let us know before booking.
  • No responsibility or liability is accepted or undertaken by Jervis Bay Rentals, its employees, agents or contractors for any death, injury, accident, damage or loss of personal property (including baggage) or any other matter arising from any act, omission or issue outside of their control.
  • Jervis Bay Rentals cannot accept responsibility for any actions taken by the owner of the premises outside Jervis Bay Rentals’ control.
