Dog friendly beaches
At Huskisson, Culburra Beach, and Currarong, where parts of the beach are off-leash exercise areas in the early morning and late afternoon, you can get to watch your dog race through the sand. At Callala Beach in Callala Bay or Nelson’s Beach in Vincentia, you can let your dog off its leash for certain periods throughout the day. For 24 hour off-lease beaches, head on over to Bawley Point’s Cormorant Beach.
Dog-friendly parks
Most parks require pets to be leashed. The one off-leash dog park close to Jervis Bay is at Clifton Park in Sanctuary Point.
Dog-friendly cafes and restaurants
Dog friendly cafes are plentiful and line the main street in Huskisson. Pet-friendly establishments include Albert N Miso N Vincentia, named after two beloved pooches and serves anything from all-day breakfast items to tasty burgers. For a late afternoon beer, head on over to Jervis Bay Brewing Co, a great dog friendly beer garden with food trucks!
Dog-friendly walks
While Booderee and Jervis Bay National Park doesn’t allow dogs in certain areas, there are still dog-friendly trails available to bound around. One example includes Abrahams Bosom Walking Track which starts at the southern end of Currarong. Close to Huskisson, Mangrove Boardwalk near the Jervis Bay Maritime Museum makes for a great short stroll. This boardwalk allows you and furry friend to traverse through the wetlands of Currambene Creek and takes about 30 minutes.
